Our newest outdoor dome camera is
sure to satisfy the most demanding customers. Along with an
on-screen menu that gives you complete control of advanced
features, we've built the Black Ops ECL-577 around a premium Sony™ video sensor
and the newest Sony brand video processing chipset.
Beware of Bottom Line Products - There's a Reason for
that Low, Low Price
You may have noticed some very low
priced CCTV products that boast of Sony parts on the inside. Beware.
A common tactic is to pair Sony chipsets
with off-the-shelf support circuits and components in order
to create as cheap a design as possible. A signal is a
signal, right?
Yes and no.
Cheap components create low grade signals.
These signals that exhibit more noise and less fidelity. Feed a bad signal into
the best video processor and your end result will be inferior
when compared to feeding it a strong, clean input. The video
processor can only do so much. Noisy raw input signals will
effect the end product, even if it is cleaned up. Why do
chefs prefer fresh herbs, vegetables and ingredients? They
know the final dish will show it.
Effio Video Processor
The Effio video processor sits at
the analog front end (AFE) of the video image capture
process (see simplified diagram at left). Here it intercepts
signals prior to digital signal processing. This provides
the DSP circuitry with clean and efficient signals that make
its job easier, freeing up space for further enhancements to
be added to the available real estate on the chipset at
micro-component level. These enhancements create higher
resolution and provide more options in the OSD.
Many Features, Simple OSD Menu
The OSD contains many features and
has been designed to be understandable and easy to use. Among
the many features you will find the following:
- Multiple methods of setting white balance, including
PUSH-LOCK (similar to the method used by professional photographers when setting digital camera white balance)
- Advanced backlight compensation, including High Light
masking
- Advanced privacy screening that employs multiple
fields with color coding, transparency degrees and
mosaicing options
- Heavy duty internal 3-dimensional bracket that
resists surface-transmitted vibration
- Adaptive tone reproduction (an advanced form
of WDR) that lets you image a
wider range of colors and tones when viewing scenes with
high luminance and deep shadows.
- Individually adjustable day-to-night and
night-to-day transition settings.

PrePro - Pre-Programmed by Professionals
PrePro is a time saving feature.
Our engineers have already
programmed the OSD menu so it is usable straight out of the
box. This "pre-programming" by professional
technicians often means the camera is good-to-go without
making any major adjustments. Reducing setup time is a big
cost saver, making
this camera attractive for large-scale projects that use
dozens of cameras.
